Explore Lima’s artistic side on our Free Walking Tour Barranco with a local guide. Discover colorful street art, historic architecture and local culture as you walk through one of Lima’s most creative neighborhoods, including the famous Bridge of Sighs.
Discover the artistic and bohemian side of Lima as you explore Barranco on foot with a local guide. We begin at Parque Municipal de Barranco, in the heart of the neighborhood, where you’ll learn how this former seaside retreat became one of Lima’s most distinctive cultural districts.
From there, we walk through colorful streets filled with street art and murals, discovering the stories, artists and local culture behind them. Along the way, you’ll also see traditional architecture and historic houses that reflect Barranco’s transformation over the years.
We continue down the famous Bajada de Baños, an old path that once connected Barranco with the Pacific coast and is now surrounded by restaurants, cafés and colorful buildings.
One of the highlights of the tour is the iconic Bridge of Sighs (Puente de los Suspiros), one of Barranco’s best-known landmarks. Your guide will share the stories and traditions surrounding the bridge while you discover one of the neighborhood’s most picturesque areas.
Throughout the walk, you’ll experience the contrast between Barranco’s historic architecture and its modern creative scene, from traditional houses and wooden balconies to contemporary murals and urban art.
The tour continues through some of Barranco’s most interesting streets and viewpoints, where you can enjoy the neighborhood’s atmosphere and take photos along the way.
By the end of the tour, you’ll have discovered a different side of Lima through Barranco’s art, history and local culture, and understand why it’s one of the city’s most unique neighborhoods.
